On July 9th, 2012, you may lose your internet connection

Some of you may encounter the inability to access the internet starting Monday, July 9th, 2012 and you won’t be alone. There are approximately 64,000 other victims in the US who were affected by a little known piece of malware called “DNS changer”, that first appeared early last year. In order to maintain functionality of the large number of computers at the time, the FBI initiated a temporary fix by activating servers to redirect traffic. Those servers will be turned off on July 9th, and if your computer is still infected, you will instantly lose internet access. To determine whether you are infected by the malware and will be affected by this issue please visit http://www.dns-ok.us. If the page that loads has the green image on the page, you are good to go. If not, please contact your internet provider for assistance or visit http://www.dcwg.org/ for means to fix the issue on your computer.

For more details on on this issue go to http://www.dcwg.org/. Note that this issue can affect any operating system, be it Windows, Mac or Linux.
