Hello everyone,
We are now in the 3rd week of the semester and there are a few chores we need to make sure everyone is caught up on. First, if you have not contacted your advisor to do a degree plan check in the last 2 months, this is the time to do that. Please contact your advisor as soon as possible so we can ensure everyone is on track. Second, the final day to Add/Drop has passed. You can still drop a course (with your advisors approval), but no course can be added for this semester. Finally, please make sure you are checking the portal page regularly. We are going to start putting out forms for graduating students in the next month or so, and it is very important that everyone is on the right track.
As a final note, all new students MUST complete both the orientation for the program (found on the portal page) and the School Orientation. Failure to complete the school orientation will mean that you will not be able to sign up for courses in Spring. If you have questions on this, please feel free to contact me or your advisor.

PTSD, TBI and Returning Vets
As many of you are probably aware we have a large number of vets returning from war with many different kinds of disabilities. However, there are two types that are often invisible to the outside world. These are Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The rate of diagnosis of these conditions is increasing exponentially as a result of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. There is likely to be an increase in demand for services for these vets and rehabilitation counselors will play a primary role in these services.
